Puppyhood is a critical time for socialization and learning. Puppy class is the single most important thing you can do to help your puppy reach his full potential! The Puppy Pow Wow currently allows puppies to be introduced to other puppies as well as a wide range of situations and stimuli that will help them be more well-rounded adolescents who turn into even better adult dogs. The greatest reason that dogs are relinquished to a shelter is due to behavior. Much of the bad behavior is due to lack of socialization when they are young. The Puppy Pow Wow is a wonderful opportunity to let puppies learn how to be dogs.

Our Puppy Pow Wow program is an introductory course for 9 week to 16 week old puppies. It consists of one (1) one hour orientation (without puppies), four (4) one-hour puppy socialization classes, and two-time a week half-day puppy play days at the Camp (optional and not included in the price). Puppy Pow Wow Instructor Jessica Kuehn completed the Puppy Start Right Instructor training program through the Karen Pryor Academy in late 2017.

We focus on socialization with people and other puppies. The instructor is available to offer helpful information on nutrition, grooming, and housebreaking. The pre-school class will introduce basic household commands such as:

• Sit
• Lay
• Come

Pow Wow puppies must have at least two rounds of vaccinations and be parasite-free (dewormed), and have a completed application and waiver on file with the Camp before coming to play.

* Training tools, including clickers, treat bags and treats, are available for purchase at the Camp.

Puppies in our Pow Wow program are eligible to attend special Puppy Play Days at the Camp:  Monday and Friday mornings or Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  Each session is a half day of play with Jessica.  Cost is $25/each play day.
